We've been eyeing a new Grainfather G40 unit, so we weren't necessarily looking to do many upgrades to our existing G30.  However, after reading up on the GCAST unit we had to give it try. The GCAST is small, roughly 2" by 2", and acts as a wireless bridge for your G30. The instructions from Grainfather are great at stepping you through the process of connecting the GCAST to your wifi network and then via bluetooth to the G30.  In fact, once we connected it to wifi it instantly asked to upgrade the software which only took a couple minutes....

We just picked up a large batch of these from a U-Brew that closed and want to pass the savings on to our customers.  These larger Fermonsters work great if you work with 6-gallon batches or just need some extra headspace for a rowdy yeast (it's our go-to when using Kveik).  We will keep these 7-Gallon Fermonsters at $24 until they're gone.

We are super excited to be adding to our list of Northwest suppliers with the addition of Yakima Valley Hops!  We will start sourcing many of the varieties we currently carry through YVH and also start to carry new varieties.  First up - we have some El Dorado, Talus, Engima, Vic Secret, and Idaho Gem on the way - slated to arrive Friday the 17th.

The Central Oregon Homebrewers Organization (COHO) has organized an exciting brewing comp for local brewers, the Central Oregon Pro-Am Challenge.  Winning "Ams" get to brew their recipes with the "Pros" at the commercial breweries here in Central Oregon. The resulting "Pro-Am" beers will go head-to-head with a tap-takeover at Boneyard Pub on November 5, 2022. Proceeds will go to COHO and a charity selected by the winner.
